• Diagnosis: Evaluate patients with neurological symptoms, order/interpret scans (MRI, CT), and diagnose conditions.
• Treatment Planning: Develop comprehensive plans, often combining surgical (tumor removal, aneurysm clipping, spinal fusion) and non-surgical (medication, injections, therapy) approaches.
• Surgery: Perform complex operations on the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves, often using microsurgery or robotics.
• Patient Care: Consult with patients/families, manage pain, prescribe medications, and provide intensive post-operative monitoring.
• Collaboration: Work with neurologists, radiologists, oncologists, and therapists.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of patient history, treatments, and outcomes.
• Emergency Response: Handle acute neurological emergencies like strokes or traumatic brain injuries.
